CSETMathGuru: THE Site for Single Subject Math
The BEST $499 You'll Spend
I tutor for the CSET and have been exceedingly successful at it. Virtually ALL my "students" have subsequently passed the CSET on their subsequent attempts!
If you want to insure that you pass the CSET, here's what I'd suggest: hire my services for a 3-hour $499 comprehensive Review session for each Subtest. This would comprise the following:
Qs? Call (Jay): 951-489-7665
OR email me: [email protected].
Note 1. To reiterate, the purpose of the Review Session is not to "teach" basic skills. For instance, if you have trouble transforming an equation from logarithmic form to exponential form, this is not the venue for getting those Qs addressed. You may wish to consult a textbook or websites for that. I assume that you are already well- equipped with a firm grasp of the fundamentals of various concepts.
Note 2. You are encouraged to come equipped with voice-recorder that you might listen to the session again!
Note 3. This shan't be your garden-variety "study session" that meanders discursively about infertile terrain. Every moment is very CSET-focused, and one's triumph (unless one's skills are beastly wanting!) I can practically assure!
The Review Session are customized to reflect varying abilities, and would be especially beneficial and much profitable to candidates that are self-motivated, industrious and mentally nimble and possess sharp basic Math skills. That is, those that have a good Math foundation and regard themselves 'moderately' well-prepared, and seek a refresher of some kind to go over CSET-like Qs.
I know what I'm doing. Here's a quick backgrounder about my own CSET credential. I took the exam the very first time it was offered in Jan '03, and passed all 3 tests at one shot. (I have 90+ Math credits, most of them are in Calculus and Mathematical Statistics.)
Then, since it was the first instance, the CSET results got delayed a month because of 'scaling' issues - deciding the passing scores, scoring criteria, that sort of thing! - and to forestall the worst-case scenario and meet a district deadline, I took it again in March, and again passed very comfortably (a most singular waste of $210, if you ask me!).
And apart from this, I've received 3 additional exposures to the tests, as I've got to take and critique - ie. provide actual feedback - to NES (the blokes that contrive and conduct the exam!).
I've taught CSET classes for all 3 Subtests at Cal State, San Bernardino for a year but that was before I was encumbered by 2 classes of AP Statistics at my school - the AP course was being inaugurated by me, and naturally, it consumed enormous dollops of my time!
With my CSET Q Banks, I have helped thousands of candidates pass the CSET, in general, and personally tutored hundreds.

Otherwise, if there are certain topics you are simply unable to gain illumination on and you are desperate [!], you may hire me as a tutor for specific topics.
I charge $100/hour. Because I'm very good. [To put it in perspective, with an inferior teacher charging half of what I do, it might take you twice as long or longer to comprehend the concepts!]

If you want to insure that you pass the CSET, here's what I'd suggest: hire my services for a 3-hour $499 comprehensive Review session for each Subtest. This would comprise the following:
- a preliminary hand-out of worksheets assessing fundamental Precalculus skills [so that I don't spend / waste valuable time review basics]. This would be sent prior to the Review Session so that you can come prepared: after all, the object of the endeavour is not to go over concepts like Solving Equations, Writing Equations of Lines, Finding the Inverse of Functions and so on.
- a complementary copy of my enormously popular and successful Q Banks [Subtest I or II Q Bank, depending on the Session], a $159 value
- a detailed and very exhaustive Review of the most important and oft-asked concepts and Qs on the CSET.
- a detailed Study Guide based the Q Banks. You shall receive this after the Review Session for additional practice and reinforcement that should further direct your preparation to optimize your success!
