Becoming a Competent Math Teacher vs. Passing the CSET
A considerable (~ 10-15%, perhaps even higher) proportion of questions on the CSET are recycled from previous tests. Therefore, if you've taken the Test(s) 5 or 6 times, you'll observe a substantial number of questions to be those you've encountered before!
Here's the crux of the matter: in my experience, candidates that take the Tests repeatedly without considerable improvement in their skills have had to appear for it seven, eight, even nine times (!) before they passed!
That is, these are souls that study TO the test instead of FOR it, preferring to know the questions in advance (because that's the ONLY way they can pass the test!) rather than spending time mastering the concepts!

I do NOT recommend the former recourse since
a) It is infinitely time-consuming - it could take more than a year, even longer, to pass!
b) It is frightfully expensive at $99/Subtest.
c) If there are even small variations or ambiguities in Qs, one is likely to get befuddled and be poorly equipped to handle them.
d) It relies on memory, so that the entire solution to a problem could collapse if one misses a critical step.
e) MOST IMPORTANTLY, it makes for a poorly prepared Math teacher, shallow and superficial in concepts, those compelled to frequently resorting to "I'll get back to you on that one!" when students pose even remotely insightful questions.
f) Finally, it fosters miserable study skills and ethic in students! One is likely to condone unsavory work ethic especially if one possess comparable values oneself.
Simply put, it's significantly cheaper, quicker and more meaningful and beneficial (to you and your prospective students) for you to enhance your Math skills and concepts in a steadfast and committed way.
In this situation, the shortcut is quite long and arduous!
